No, you don’t understand, the puppies are 6 weeks and being weaned! Isn’t that too young? They are still w/ their mom but I just wanted to have them somewhat trained before leaving. I’m giving them away at 8 weeks. Will I have time to train them w/ treats or are they too young?

We use bits of the dried puppy food that the puppy was weaned on. Our puppy was perfectly happy to have the tiny pieces of kibble.

You are right to be concerned about most treats – a lot of treats are made of meats and other foodstuffs that may not be suitable for a puppy until it is at least 4 months’ old.

I know you don’t want to hear this, but it tell you exactly what to do on the dog food label. You should know your pets weight because hopefully you’ve taken it to the vet already. So you just look at the age and weight chart on the food and it tells you how much.
