How To Master puppy Training

Raising a puppy or dog is very much like raising a child. In fact, one way per family in general! However when it comes to raising a child there are many things you wouldn’t associate with raising a dog. I’ve listed below a few items you may want to take into account before you decide to buy a dog or puppy. How many times have we heard, “My dog just won’t listen to me”, or “He just won’t behave!”

You can get your dog to understand what you’re saying.

The great thing about owning a dog is how loyal they are to us. You might not know but dogs are excellent at reading your body laguage and they do this intently when you fist get them home. They start by using the skills they already possess before we teach them more, like how to understand what we say to them.Until we teach them the English language, it’s all they have. If we say; “Wanna go out?” one day, “Have to go potty?” the next day, and, “Hafta pee?” the third day. They will only learn what we are saying because although you’re using different commands each and everytime you move to the door with their leash in hand. If you want your dog to learn quicker then kepp things simple and consistent. Select a single instruction per activity you want your dog to obey, not three.Pick a command for EACH behavior and stick with it. Tell all in your family to use the same words and commands, and your puppy will amaze you at how much faster he learns.

Your puppy grows quicker than you think.

In the first few weeks of your puppy’s life he will need to be watched all the time as he will need to be let outside a lot during the day. If your puppy has an accident in your house don’t punish him. You will need to let him out on a regular basis and if hegoes toilet indoors, you’ve only got yourself to blame. Once an hour is not too often for a large 6-week old puppy, especially if it is summertime. By giving your puppy the opportunity to go on a regular basis means they will be used to going outside to toilet and will want to go outside when they need to go. Keep your eye out for the best times to let your puppy out; after play time and definately after they’ve eaten or had a drink. A good tell tale sign that your puppy needs to go is when he is distracted away suddenly from something he was happy doing like playing with a toy. Whenever he goes outside and goes to the toilet make sure you give him lots of prasie and even give him a treat. He will associate alkl this with going outside to toilet. They love it when we show these positive reactions.

Your dog just lives to get positive body language from you.

Because of this, the worst punishment you ever need to give your dog is a scowl and to turn away from him. Signs to watch for are his ears and eyes drop and he may even whine or cry slightly. If your puppy does something you don’t like just simply ignore this behavior only and only do this for a minute per year of age of your dog. In the case of a puppy I’d go by age in months. love him up and give him your happy face again. Don’t ever use any form of physical abuse to punish your puppy, EVER! Give lots of loving attention to your puppy all time and especially when they behave appropriately and do as you command. By doing this your puppy will be an expert at understanding you in no time at all.

You’ll find that you will need to tarin your puppy to do a number of different commands. To own a well behaved dog you’ll need to apply these positive reinforcement techniques. These are tips on how I approach dog training and I’ve been successful with them and I’m sure you will be too.

puppy Toilet Training – Choosing the Best Method

Toilet training puppies can be done at any point in time but is best begun as soon as the new puppy arrives at your house However the later you begin the more challenging the training will be and the more time it will take. You will need to choose which approach you are going to use to potty train puppy preferably before puppy gets home.

It is essential to have a plan and be clear on the method you are going to use.  Altering how you train or relaxing your enforcement of the training approach will only bewilder the puppy and make the training longer.

You ought to expect the training to take around two to three months however when you are finished it is unlikely you will need to potty train puppy again.

There are many methods used for puppy house training and, though they are not the only methods, many dog trainers and vets recommend crate training or paper training.  The approach you utilize can depend on a number of things. Your home arrangements, time free to instruct, physical capacity and simply personal choice will all be elements in choosing the puppy toilet training technique that suits you.

The first technique is paper training which is essentially training your puppy to eliminate only on newspaper. The newspaper is in an area that you choose, it is absorbent, cheap and readily available and is able to be collected and disposed of when used.

This method to potty train puppy is the best solution for people who are in an apartment and have no yard or for those who can not get outdoors such as the ill or aged. It is best for smaller to medium puppies as the amount of waste from a larger dog can be too much to handle. In addition if you are planning to train your puppy to eliminate outside but are unable to do so right now, such as in the middle of winter, it can be utilised as an interim method.

The second approach is crate training which is utilised to train your puppy to eliminate outdoors.  This method is commonly accepted as the quickest. Some detractors have labelled it as cruel however most seem to disagree so you will have to determine if it is right for you and your puppy.

Crate training involves the employment of a small indoor kennel to confine your puppy when you are not supervising them and is based on the principle that a dog dislikes sleeping where it eliminates. Although it’s speed is an advantage it involves a great deal of time and it is best suited for medium to big dogs. You will have to be able to spend a lot of time in the initial few weeks of  puppy house training actively supervising.  You will also need to be on hand during the day to let puppy out of the crate at two to three hour intervals.

Whichever method you select the results are definitely worth the time and energy. Toilet training puppies is not easy, especially if it’s the first time but the key is to be consistent and persistent with whatever method you choose. A new puppy is one of the most adorable creatures on the earth and particularly when properly taught is a tremendous addition to the family.
